So I Finshed the Fight, Now What?

this is awesome
The picture you see in this screenshot is me sniping someone off a ghost. Only pro-gamers can pull off such a move.

It has been a very eventful week here at the LOTM headquarters. I recently stood in line with 300+ people in front of our local Best Buy to purchase in my opinion the game of the year: Halo 3. Was I excited? Of course I was. Did I stay up all night until I finished the fight? You damn right I did. Was it all I hoped and dream? Indeed and then some.

My epic journey started at 1 in the morning September 25th and ended around 3:45 PM the same day. I decided to play through on Heroic because I’m somewhat of a bad ass when it comes to Halo and I wanted a challenge from the start; a challenged I did receive. From beginning to end I was enveloped in the mythology that is Halo and I loved every minute of it, besides one part but I won’t go into that since it contains spoilers. (Hint: The flood is back with a vengeance.) Once you beat the game, be sure to watch the special ending after the credits because if you don’t you won’t know the true ending of the trilogy.

So now that it’s done, what’s next? Well I do plan on playing through on Legendary with my roommate and anyone else who wants to co-op through the game, and of course I will be playing multiplayer until my hands fall off. I have found myself spending a lot of spare time with a new feature of the game which goes by the name of Saved Films. Anything you do in the game, have it be the Campaign mode or the Multiplayer section, gets recorded for your viewing pleasure later. The game automatically saves the data created from each session and allows you to have up to 25 recent films that get overridden unless you specifically tell the system to save the ones you want onto your hard drive. From these saved films you have the ability to record clips of you doing incredible stuff and you have the option to create screenshots. Yes that’s right, you can now have evidence of you no-scoping someone in the face from 20 yards away. Sadly, you can’t create clips from anything having to do with the campaign because of the way the game code is generated but you can watch them for your own enjoyment.

But the fun doesn’t end there! If you head over to Bungie.net and sign up, you’ll have the ability to track every stat, saved film, and screenshot you generate. You can see all of the medals you have acquired, your Kill/Death ratio, and even see how your friends are doing on the game. This functionality brings so much more to the game than ever before and will have you playing this games for years to come.

There’s so much more I haven’t touched on like Forge (this gives you the ability to make the maps in mulitplayer the way you envision them), the Campaign scoring system, the hidden skulls in each level of the campaign, and all of the options you have at your disposal to make different game variants. (Pro tip: Turn players speed to 300% and turn the gravity down to 50%. Then only allow the Gravity Hammer as a weapon.). These things just add more value to the game and I can’t wait to dabble in them.

If you own a 360 and have Live get this game. If you have the balls to step in a match with me my gamertag is Kryptinite. Add me and be prepared to bring the fight or go home with your tail between your legs. See you on live.

    Gravity Hammer in your face.

That really was a lot of fun. I also liked 300% gravity and super speed with rocket launchers only. That was awesome.

Can’t wait to play again. Or see some more screen shots. And videos. Or whatever you can come up with.

    Good stuff.
