This is why I’m not buying Guitar Hero 3

At least not for the 360. You know why? Because the achievements are gawd awful. Now don’t get me wrong, if you are l33t in the ways of Guitar Hero, you might look at this list and ask me why am I complaining. But for those people like me who can beat Hard mode and skim by on some songs on Expert see this list and see a list of failure that will forever be on our gamer profile. And yes, I care that much but stick with me here.

For those who don’t know, I’m in love with achievements and think that Sony and Nintendo should just straight steal the idea. They keep wondering but this is a reason why the 360 has such a high attachment rate.

Back on subject: Here’s a mini list of achievements that GH3 has that I will probably never be able to obtain:

*Enlightened Guitarist: Gold Star 20 songs on Expert (for those who don’t know that’s perfect 20 songs)
*Star Mania: Activate Star Power 3 times on Through the Fire and Flames on Expert
*Tone Deaf: Beat any song on the expert difficulty with the games sound options turned down to zero
*Buy a Guitar Already: Play through a career on the Hard or Expert difficulty using a standard controller (you got to be kidding me)

And the list goes on. In my opinion they got the achievements wrong this time around. When I play games on my 360, for the most part I play with the achievements in mind. Call it backwards, retarded, or whatever but they make my gaming experience that much more enjoyable. Being that I do want to play GH3, I’m just going to buy it for the Wii and live with my choice. It does have built in rumble so that should be amazing.
