My GRAND THEFT AUTO 4 REVIEW…of the special editon

It finally arrived to my place on Thursday

Being the obsessive special edition freak that I am, I had to do a review on the Grand Theft Auto 4 Special Edition that Rockstar was awesome enough to put together.

I’m addicted to Collector’s Editions

Hi. My name is Jermaine Pulliam and I’m addicted to collector’s editions. More specifically, I’m addicted to limited editions of anything. I’m not sure exactly when my addiction started nor do I see an end coming to this horrible problem in the foreseeable future. I can’t explain why I’m addicted to collector’s editions but I can share my experiences so that you know that you’re not alone.

Metal Gear Solid Beta: The beginning

Metal Gear Online Beta! Exclusive Trailer from Kryptinite on Vimeo.

So unlike a few unlucky people in the world, I was fortunate enough to have a beta code that actually works. Being overly excited and pumped for the beta, I decided to mess around and see what I could do early. My video above displays what I was able to do. In addition to the 1.01 update that takes years to download, you also have to sign up at Konami for a Konami ID. Once you do this, which I still haven’t been able to at this moment, you will also get a Game ID for MGO itself.

I know, I was thinking the same thing, “Did Nintendo buy Sony?”. No they didn’t, the way it works is this (to my understanding): Konami has it’s own system in place to monitor it’s online games and it’s being used for the first time in the US for MGO. You can find all of that information here. So now the wait begins and I don’t know if I can wait. The trailer did a great job of getting me excited. How about you? Are you excited? Granted, most of us will be playing right up until the 29 of April and we all know what happens on that day. That’s right, it’s International Dance Day.

These dolphins are dancing for April 29th

And the gamers who play them: Survival Horror

Maybe this coincides with the fact that I hate horror movies, but I cannot play through survival horror games. I’ve played the demo of Condemned, Fear for the PS3, Code Veronica, Fatal Frame, and even Resident Evil 4; I’ve beaten a total of 0 of these games.

From here on out, videogame is one word!

How many times have you typed videogames only to be told by FireFox or Word that you’re an idiot? I’m sure plenty; it sucks and it’s changing today. Will this catch on? Probably later than sooner. Will you look like a d-bag for typing videogames as one word and not two? Possibly for the foreseeable future. But in order for change to happen, you might have to look like a d-bag for a while. Imagine how many times the first genius who decided to milk a cow got flamed. I’m sure people made fun of him until he died because you can’t let something like that just slide. That would be like if I thought soy made you gay….Seriously though, why in the world would you just decide to milk a cow? What in hell was that guy thinking? On second thought, I don’t want to know.

Today will no longer be known as February 25th, but as the day the world declared in one voice: “We will not go quietly into the night!” We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!

My first video review, now with game footage!

This is my first attempt to do a review with the inclusion of game footage from the game I’m covering. I have an awesome title screen, which a close friend Jason created for me, but I didn’t include it in this video yet. There’s a lot of stuff wrong with the video, including my monotone voice, but the more of these I do, the better they will get I hope. So let me know, what do you want to see in a video review? What points would you like me to touch on? If you are a video guru, Jason, what format should I edit in, upload in, all that fun stuff in?

The game I reviewed, quickly, goes by the name of Conan. It’s really a great game if you can find it on the cheap. And remember: THIS IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!

Star Wars: Force Unleased looks like it’s going to rock

I am somewhat of a fan of the Star Wars universe. I wouldn’t say I’m a fanatic but I enjoy the world and lore that was created for it. There has been numerous Star Wars games in the past; some good but most bad. This new one looks amazing and it’s now on my radar for games I need to pick up this year. Check out the video and get excited like I am for this game.

COD4: Mile High Club Achievement

If I haven’t told you, I’m in love with Call of Duty 4. I’m currently not playing it right now because I’m cheating on COD4 with Mass Effect but that’s besides the point. I have around 800 points in the game right now and I don’t see any of the other achievements being that bad to obtain except this one called the Mile High Club. Basically, you have to beat the very last level, the one placing you on a plane, on Veteran difficulty. That alone wouldn’t be so bad if you didn’t have only 1 minute to do so. If you’ve gotten this achievement already, you’re a bad ass in my eyes. Although I see this achievement as extremely insane, here’s a video of someone actually doing it. Notice his excellent use of flash grenades during his carnage.

Blast from the Past: The Sega Channel

Some of you might be to young to remember this but back in 1994 Time Warner and Sega teamed up to create what was something very very forward thinking and ahead of it’s time: The Sega Channel. “What is the Sega Channel?” someone of you say. We’ll let’s take a little trip down memory lane and dissect what was one of the best ideas that was lost in the wind.

2007: A great year to be a gamer.

Damn it feels good to be a gamer. Just this week two huge titles are coming out: Super Mario Galaxy and Assassin’s Creed. This year has already seen some innovative, amazing, and down right epic games which have pushed the industry even further.

Join me as we take a brief journey through what this year has offered us and will offer us as this year comes to a close.

Note: Not all games this year reflected in this video nor are all platforms represented. I really wanted to use this song in a video and I couldn’t think of a more perfect way. I mean I could but this will work for now until I can get my hand on some expensive fireworks. Enjoy.
